Forterus Key Treatment Services
Being sober during treatment is different than being sober outside of a rehab setting. Getting you or your loved one back to the real world after rehab is important. Early in our treatment programs, we stress community involvement for clients by encouraging their involvement in local, aftercare-focused activities. For example, clients are able to exercise and work out at an offsite gym, attend community 12-Step, and other support meetings. Twice weekly, clients go on staff-supervised community outings to shop for personal items. Getting out in the community gives our clients a sense of personal accountability while exposing them to potential real-life triggers for relapse.
We respect that for some clients, it’s important that they incorporate faith into their treatment plan as the foundation for their healing, growth, and transformation. Our Murrieta location offers a Christian-based treatment track called Building On the Rock. Clients who choose to participate in this track receive traditional treatment services – Detox, Individual, Group, and Family therapy – but in a breakout program that follows the 12-Steps from a Christ-centered perspective.
During their initial admission medical and psychiatric assessments, we screen clients who express interest in our Pain Management track. This treatment track is for clients in recovery who wish to incorporate non-pharmaceutical pain management services into their individualized addiction treatment plans. These services include Physical Therapy and Massage Therapy services, which are available through Murrieta’s successful partnership with an outside physical therapy clinic.
Grief & Loss Support
Led by a licensed therapist, the Grief & Loss Support Group provides a caring environment where you or your loved one can share common grief experiences and understanding with others who have experienced similar loss. This intimate group is limited to 8-10 clients and seeks to provide helpful, practical information for coping with the loss of loved ones, previous lifestyles, and jobs. As you transition through the stages of grieving, this group can help you work towards a state of greater peace and acceptance.
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) individuals are members of an at-risk population for addiction and co-occurring mental health issues. Forterus holds an LGBT support group for clients in recovery that identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender. This group offers support to deal with prejudice, gender-identity struggles, coming out to one’s family, social expectations, and related stressors.
Health & Wellness
Because addiction takes a toll on overall health, recovering clients are required to begin incorporating wellness activities into their lives. While in treatment, you or your loved one can take advantage of our Health & Wellness Groups to build support for the health-related challenges you may face when returning to your life after treatment. All groups are designed to help our clients begin a lifestyle conducive to physical balance and health while in treatment that they can continue after graduation. These groups include:
Nutrition & Recovery- Healthy eating information is discussed in these sessions that focus on basic food groups, caloric intake, cooking, healthy snacking, keeping daily food logs, and more.
Exercise for Recovery– Everyone in recovery is in the healing process. Finding an exercise or activity outlet is a healthy way to manage stress, and attending exercise classes helps clients find sustainable ways to fit regular, healthful exercise into their new substance-free lifestyle. Our fitness groups educate clients on the importance of including exercise in our everyday lives to continue helping the body and brain recover from addiction.
